RADDA IN CHIANTI
"4000 years old"
The medieval village of Radda in Chianti dates back to ancient times, the first settlements date back to the Etruscan times, 2000 BC, in the nearby Poggio alla Croce, then moved to the hill where today the village rises. Over the centuries it has been the subject of diatribe between Siena and Florence and one of the most famous characters of the time, Francesco Ferrucci, remained the emblem of this place.
It has always been the capital of Chianti Storico, and since it has been the capital of Chianti Classico, which in 2016 has switched off the 300 candles, significant for the history of this area known for its high quality wine.
