The organizing committee is composed of:

The scheduled races will take place according to the provisions of this regulation and all the updates that will appear on the event's website:

2.1 ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATION
By registering for the Chianti Utra Trail event, each competitor absolutely declares:
• to want to participate in one of the scheduled races after registering and accepting the conditions of participation and the following regulations.
• to have read, accepted and respected the rules of the races in all its parts.
• to be aware that participation in sporting events, even if not competitive, is potentially a risky activity if you are not adequately prepared and in suitable psychophysical conditions;
• to be, therefore, in the physical and health conditions suitable to participate in the aforementioned races and to be adequately prepared in consideration of the length and characteristics of the routes, type of terrain, altitude profile, available on the website www.chiantiultratrail.com;
• to want to assume any risk deriving from participation in the races, also deriving from falls or contacts with other participants or other. To have acquired, before the race, a real capacity for personal autonomy in order to better manage the problems related to this type of test (for example: knowing how to deal alone, without help, climatic conditions that could become difficult due to altitude, wind, cold, fog, rain, storm, and being able to manage, even if isolated, the physical or psychological problems due to difficulty in orienting the route, fatigue, gastrointestinal problems, muscle / joint pain, small injuries ); or any other well known and assessed risk;
• to accept and respect any decision made at any time by the organizers;
• to undertake to use all the necessary individual or collective protections, in order to participate in the competitions and to be aware of the need to have / keep all the required mandatory material with them; before the competition, the competitor will in any case carefully assess whether this material will be sufficient for his own personal safety, taking into account his conditions and needs as well as the weather conditions foreseen for the competition days;
• to be aware that every choice and action that will be adopted during the competition will be a personal choice and action;
• the competitor assumes all and exclusive responsibility, relieving the organization of any responsibility;
• to consequently exempt the organization and its management / executive bodies from any liability that may arise as a result of participation in the competition, for any damage suffered or caused to third parties in the performance of the competition;
• to undertake to behave respectfully for the person and the environment and in particular:
• not to use doping substances and not to abuse self-medication, informing the Organization in advance in the event of a medical prescription for therapeutic purposes;
• not to go beyond one's limits, in order not to damage one's physical, mental and moral integrity;
• do not throw waste and produce pollution;
• stay on the trails to preserve the flora;
• respect the fauna avoiding in particular shouts and annoying noises;
• Respect the Highway Code in every section of the race.
N.B. For anything not covered by this regulation, the organization will evaluate any situations.
Chianti Trail Ultra includes 4 competitive races and 1 non-competitive races, which start from a hilly village environment, Radda in Chianti. The altimetric elevations of the Ultra trail will be between 306 m and 914 m.
The distances are listed below:
3.1 Ultra-Trail Chianti Castles- UTCC
Ultra Trail Chianti Castles, from now on UTCC, 100 km with approximately 4200 meters of elevation gain, in semi-autonomy with start and finish in Radda in Chianti (SI), Time max 22 hours
3.2 Chianti Ultra-Trail - CUT
Chianti Ultra Trail, from now on CUT, 73 km with approximately 2700 meters of positive altitude difference in semi-autonomy with start and finish in Radda in Chianti (SI), Time max 14 hours
3.3 Chianti Trail - CMT
Chianti Marathon Trail, henceforth CMT, 42 km with approximately 1400 meters of positive altitude difference in semi-autonomy with start and finish in Radda in Chianti (SI), Time max 9 hours
3.4 Chianti Trail - CHT
Chianti Short Trail, 20 km with about 800 meters of positive altitude difference in semi-autonomy with start and finish in Radda in Chianti (SI), Time max 4 hours
3.5 Chianti Walk & Run Nordic Walking - CWR
Chianti Walk & Run Nordik Walking, 15 km with about 550 meters of positive altitude difference in semi-autonomy with departure and arrival in Radda in Chianti (SI), Time max 3 hours
3.6 DETAILS OF THE PASSAGES, MAPS AND ALTITUDES
On the website www.chiantiultratrail.com it is possible to consult the digital cartography of the competition area, elevation graphs, list of refreshments and description of races.
This document is subject to changes that will be communicated in any case through the same website and other organization channels.
The competitions are open to all those who, having reached the age of 18 on the date of the race, are in possession of a medical sports certificate of fitness for competitive activity (for Italian athletes DM 18.02.1982 tab. B) valid on the date of the race and recognized by the country of residence.
Only the certificate issued for the competitive practice of Athletics - Code S.012 (for Italy) will be considered valid. Certificates issued for other competitive disciplines (skiing, football, cycling, triathlon, etc ...) will not be considered valid. Those who are in possession of the unsuitable certificate will be able to request the conversion at their medical center.
For athletes of foreign nationality who cannot provide the medical certificate, they can have their doctor fill out the Health form available on the REGISTRATION page.
The medical certificate with valid date for the competitions must be received by March 15, 2022, by email to iscrizioni@detecht.it or by uploading it to the ENDU platform
Each member is also given a personal self-assessment aimed at taking into consideration:
The athlete must take note of the length and particularities of the test and be aware that his participation requires a high physical preparation necessary to overcome situations that require great capacity for personal physical and psychological autonomy.
the real capacity for autonomy in a challenging hilly / mountain wooded environment.
the real ability to manage any physical or psychological problems related to the competition;
that the organization makes available a dedicated staff for emergencies, however, taking action against the participant himself when his attitude derives from unpreparedness or negligence.
In the event that it is necessary to activate the 118, including the possible use of a helicopter, the costs deriving from the intervention of structures external to those of the organization, both before, during and after, will be borne by the athlete and they cannot be attributed to the organization itself. The intervention of helicopter rescue in Italy is subject to a fee and is entirely the responsibility of the participating athlete.
Athletes in wheelchairs, as well as athletes with roller skates, skateboards, bicycles, strollers, dogs are not allowed to participate in the aforementioned competitions, except in exceptional cases and authorized by the organization.
4.1 PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
The route is particularly selective already in optimal weather and visibility conditions, and becomes even more so in case of bad weather: the harshness of the territory and some technical sections, exposed and isolated, may force the organization to insert participation criteria at the event until the start of the race, therefore it is mandatory for the athlete to keep up to date and follow the information provided by the organization on its channels.

4.2 CANCELLATION AND REGISTRATION CONVERSION
In case of inability to participate, the cancellation must be communicated via e-mail to the address registrizioni@detecht.it
In case of non-participation in the race, the registration fees are in no case refundable.
Under no circumstances will the registration fee be refunded.
However, the athlete unable to participate in the race will be offered two alternatives (both provide for a payment of € 10 for secretarial fees):
The postponement of the registration fee to the following year is allowed, upon communication by 28/02/2023 by sending an email with the request to info@chiantiultratrail.com, it is understood that the aforementioned fee will eventually be supplemented and that the registration will in any case be formalized with all the requisites required.
It is possible to replace the name of a departing person by 28/02/2023 by submitting the request via email to the address registrizioni@detecht.it attaching all the personal data necessary for registration, the medical certificate and in case of possession of the card federal, by paying a fee of € 10 for secretarial fees.
Distance changes, if the athlete wants to compete at a distance other than the one to which he has registered, he can submit an application by e-mail to info@chiantiultratrail.com by 28/02/2023.
The change in distance will be assessed and eventually agreed, compatibly with the availability of seats available according to the provisions of the organization.
Furthermore, if the distance is greater, the athlete will have to integrate the difference in the registration fee in addition to the administrative fees which amount to € 10.
In the event that the athlete wants to request to participate at a shorter distance.
The athlete must take note of the length and particularities of the test and be aware that his participation requires a high physical preparation necessary to overcome situations that require great capacity for personal physical and psychological autonomy.
To support the athletes and to guarantee their autonomy, the following points of support are provided, for more details consult point 10 of the regulation "CONTROL POINTS, REFUELING POINTS, GATES, LIFE BASES"
UTCC:
* 8 refreshment points
* 1 life base and the finish area where athletes can find the material delivered.
CUT:
* 5 refreshments
* 1 life base and the finish area where athletes can find the material delivered.
CMT:
* 3 refreshment points
* the Vistarenni area and the finish area for assistance
CHT:
* 1 refreshment
* the finish area for assistance
Individual assistance to athletes in private form is allowed only in the areas set up at the official refreshment points, it is absolutely forbidden along the route and in unmarked points.
It is also forbidden any form of accompaniment, flanking the athletes on the course.
The registration procedure will open on August 1, 2022, and will close on March 20, 2023, unless the maximum number of participants is reached.

Payment must be made through the online service by credit card or by bank transfer. The payment must be contextual to the completion of the registration form, in the absence of receipt of payment within 5 days from the completion of the form, the registration will be considered canceled. If upon verification of registration for the race, the conditions of participation described in point 4.1 will not be confirmed, registration will be considered void. To complete the registration it will be necessary to send the medical certificate by 15/03/2023.
Beyond that date and in the absence of the same, the athlete will not be able to participate and no refund will be granted.

The following mandatory equipment will be checked by the judges in the starting area and along the sample course.
Trail / trekking poles and backpack that are part of the athlete's equipment at the time of departure cannot be abandoned, delivered to third parties or replaced during the entire course of the race. In case of replacement due to force majeure, a request must be made to the organization before proceeding; the organization will evaluate and grant or not the replacement / exchange permit.
Obligatory material:
* bib clearly visible throughout the duration of the race;
* working mobile phone with number communicated by the organization;
* personal glass; (there are no glasses at the refreshment points)
* 1L water reserve capacity for UTCC and CUT - 0.5L reserve for CMT and CHT
* headlamp with spare battery; (only for CUT and UTCC)
* whistle;
* thermal sheet;
* windproof jacket;
* trail shoes;
Recommended material:
* money for any emergencies;
* trail running / trekking poles;
* suitable food reserve (valid for CUT and CMT)
Regarding CWR, the following mandatory material is indicated:
* working mobile phone with number communicated to the organization;
* personal glass; (there are no glasses at the refreshment points)
In addition to this, the organization has decided not to indicate any other material but to make the competitor responsible who is informed of the risks and dangers he may incur.
It remains mandatory for the athlete, and his responsibility, to evaluate the weather conditions and his psycho-physical abilities for participation in competitions.
The formalization of the registration phase via the internet and the delivery of the bib will take place at the secretariat. The bib will be collected at this location and the race packet will be collected.
It will also be possible to carry out the registration procedure through a delegate who must present himself with the proxy signed and with his / her valid identity document and with a copy of that of the delegator (or more delegates) and all the materials listed.
Athletes (or delegates) must present themselves with:
* a photo ID
* possible delegation for the collection of bibs of other athletes downloadable from the PROGRAM page
The bib must be positioned throughout the duration of the competition in a clearly visible manner on the belly, chest or leg so that it can be checked at any time. The bib will allow you to use the refreshment points and any service for the athlete that the athlete will want to have available at the life bases and / or on arrival.
The official Briefing will be available on the website and will contain updates and additional details regarding the competition, its consultation is strongly recommended.
Days and times relating to the Secretariat activity will be communicated through the official media.
Along the route, various rescue stations will be positioned near the refreshment points, manned by medical personnel and volunteers. Competitors undertake to communicate any allergies or intolerances to drugs and foods already at the time of registration.
The doctors in the rescue stations have the unquestionable right to detain the athletes in case of psycho-physical conditions that are inadequate for the continuation of the race, also evaluating possible transfers to better equipped contexts.
Each athlete is obliged by law (Omission of rescue, Article 593 of the Italian Criminal Code) to provide assistance and help to any person in need that he or she encounters during the event, promptly informing the rescue.
It is therefore a duty to refer to the mandatory material, aimed at guaranteeing the integrity of the competitors even in contexts where help is slow to arrive.
In addition to first aid interventions, at the sole discretion of the organization and in the interest of the injured person, the intervention of all appropriate means may be required to protect the safety of the person in question.
Any expenses deriving from such interventions will be borne by the rescued person according to the regulations in force (eg intervention by helicopter, hospitalization with ambulance, etc. ..).
There will be a "broom service" that will cover the track at the end of the race in order to help the retired and prevent any injured people from being left without assistance.
10.1 CONTROL AND GATES
The timing service will be provided by Toscana Timing, MySDAM official timer for Tuscany.
Each competitor will be equipped with a bib and a single use chip that will allow a visual and electronic check and will allow the identification of the runner during the course of the race. The competitor is obliged as long as he is in the race to always make the two identification devices visible and not to abandon them.
The time gates within which the athlete is considered to be in the race:
The time gates are calculated at 5km / hour (12 min / km), beyond this time the assistance on the route will not be guaranteed, the scope service will remove all the signs, consequently the athlete who remains beyond these limits will no longer be able to to follow the path at his own risk, relieving every member of the organization from any responsibility.
Brooms are obliged to collect chips and bibs from all athletes who decide to continue outside the calculated maximum times.

Beyond the maximum times, the competitors will consider themselves out of the race and assistance on the route will not be guaranteed.If the athlete is passing through the control point after the maximum time limit, he will be stopped and returned to the start and finish area via the shuttle of the organization provided that it does not autonomously exit the race course, in this case it will have to return autonomously under its own responsibility and return the chip and bib.
In addition to the main checkpoints, all the refreshment points are considered checkpoints, together with other points along the official route considered strategic by the organization.
To be still in the race, the competitor must have passed through the control point before the time indicated above; in the case of life bases, the athlete must enter within the times indicated above and in any case must leave the same before the expiry of the maximum time indicated. Those eliminated at the gate will no longer be considered in the race, acting, from that moment on, under their own responsibility and relieving the organization of any responsibility.
The organization may decide to change, add or remove the time gates at any time as indicated in point 2.1 of the regulation.

Except in the event of injury or serious injuries, the competitor may withdraw from the race only at the various refreshment points.
The return to the finish point will be guaranteed as quickly as possible and only when the operation will not affect the assistance of the athletes still in the race.
Once the competitor has independently arrived at the nearest refreshment point:
* Must pass through the times check area;
* He must report to the judge (Catering Manager) and communicate his will to retire.
The Judge (Catering Manager) will take care of:
* Collect the chip and leave the bib to the competitor;
* Communicate the competitor's bib number withdrawn as soon as possible via telephone (preferably via text message) or via radio.
After the withdrawal, or the disqualification, the organization will take charge of the athlete's return to Radda from the refreshment point where the withdrawal took place via shuttle service, the recovery times are subject to organizational and safety times therefore a return time.
The decision to continue on the race track will be in full and complete responsibility of the individual athlete. In this case, the organization informs that the athlete will no longer have the rescue service, the scope service, the use of refreshment points and the route signs available and declines any kind of responsibility towards the athlete, third parties and / or equipment and objects.
The route will be marked with warning tapes and / or reflectors perfectly visible even at night or in poor visibility conditions. The signs will be: yellow signs with black writing and arrows, high visibility tape. At the junction or junction points considered misleading by the organization, they will be manned by authorized personnel.
13.1 CHANGING ROOMS AND SHOWERS SERVICE
The changing room and shower service is guaranteed for all athletes at the Stadio Comunale Marcucci, located in the Santa Maria ring road about 400m from the finish area.
13.3 STORAGE OF BAGS
The deposit is located at the Village in Via degli Ulivi 1, the opening hours are the same as the Village
Friday 3pm - 8 pm
Saturday 6.30 - 7.30 am 11.00 am - 8 pm
Sunday 8.00 am - 12.00 am
13.2 BAGSSERVICE FOR UTCC AND CUT
The bag transport service to the BASE VITA located in Villa Vistarenni is guaranteed
The delivery of the bags where to take place on Friday from 3 to 7 PM at the bag deposit located at the Village on Via degli Ulivi 1 in Radda in Chianti
Bags must always be collected in the Village at the bag deposit from 3 to 8 PM on Saturday.
After 8PM the bags will be located on the arrival area.
During the event, the official staff (Chianti Live staff, restaurant managers, official medical staff, official rescue staff) will have executive control and / or disqualification power.
Volunteers will have the task of supervision, as well as individual athletes.
In case of detection of infringements, it will be mandatory to report such infringement as soon as possible to the Race Direction or to a member of the official staff, bringing to documentation, testimonies, photographic or video evidence.
Decisions will be made by a committee composed of the following figures:
* race judges
* Security manager
* Technical manager of the course
* Race Direction
The latter will also have the power to accept or not any type of dispute according to UISP regulations.
To safeguard compliance with the regulations, the Race Judges will be authorized to check controls along the track. These are the penalties, relating to individual non-compliance or infringements:
* absence of mandatory material and water reserve at the exit from the refreshment points - disqualification
* do not allow judges to check - disqualification
* assistance outside official refreshments - disqualification
* obvious cuts in the course - disqualification
* failure to pass a checkpoint - disqualification
* abandonment of waste outside the refreshment points - disqualification
* failure to assist a person in difficulty on the course - disqualification
* disrespect, loyalty or solidarity towards athletes - disqualification
* athlete out of time limit - disqualification
The Race Judges will be able to ascertain disqualifications through images or videos, which have come to them even after the end of the race, which must be communicated according to the official UISP regulations.
Decisions made do not allow for appeal.
All disputes must be delivered to the organizing committee within two hours after arrival in writing and at the same time as a deposit of € 50.
This sum will not be returned if the complaint is not accepted.
8 CHANGES RELATING TO THE TRACK, REDUCTION OF THE TRACK, CHANGING GATES, TIMES, DEPARTURE TIMES, CANCELLATION OF THE RACE
The race judges and the organization have the power to decide at any time before or during the race, if there are conditions such as to jeopardize the safety of athletes, volunteers or staff or to compromise the normal running of the event, to modify what was previously communicated in terms of regulation. They may decide to change the previously communicated official timing, cancel, temporarily or permanently suspend the race and / or consider the most appropriate location as the point of arrival.
The race judges, due to particular and prohibitive weather conditions, may decide to postpone the departure for a maximum of 3 hours, communicating any changes to the time gates. Beyond 3 hours the race will be considered canceled.
Civil liability: The organization takes out civil liability insurance for the entire period of the event. The organization advises each participant to have their own personal insurance that covers participation in events of this type, with coverage for accidents, injuries, travel and evacuation costs.
Each runner must provide minimal assistance to those who need it during the race but without moving people with suspected fractures and calling for help.
All emergency costs by helicopter and 118 vehicles are excluded from the insurance coverage.
All the competitors who arrive in Radda in Chianti will be considered classified having passed through all the active checkpoints on the route and within the time limit of arrival.
Any athlete who crosses the official finish line within the time limit will be considered a "finisher", the latter may be redefined for reasons of force majeure by the Race Direction even during the event. For all of them there will be a "finisher" prize awarded upon arrival.
NO MONEY REWARDS ARE PROVIDED
The first 5 men and the first 5 women of the ranking of each race will be awarded.
For the times of departures, awards ceremonies and collateral events, the official program web page is valid. The organization can also change the times and program during the event according to their own needs.
By taking part in Chianti Ultra Trail, competitors authorize the organization and its partners to use their images for dissemination, promotional and commercial purposes, thus renouncing all personal rights.
