Great participation for the race between the vineyards. Matteuzzi: “Already at work for the 2019 edition”. More than 600 partecipants at the starting line, and other 300 passionates on a waiting list, sold out for the accommodation of Radda in Chianti, more than 22 nations represented for a weekend of Trail and good wine. These are some numbers that decree the success of the first edition of Chianti Trail Ultra. The race between the rows of the most famous vineyards in the world, which took place in the last weekend of March in the heart of Chianti.
We can say “good the first one” exclaims Matteo Metteuzzi from Chianti Live, organizer of the event. “ We too – goes on – were plesantly surprised by the success of this first edition. We didn’t expect a lot of partecipation for a debut race even if the athleths know that the landscape heritage that our territory offer combines very well with sport and especially with the trail. I want to thank once again the administration of radda in Chianti, the volunteers who committed themselves to the success of the event and the sponsors who supported us “2018 was the year of the beginning, which must act as a springboard for our initiative: we are already thinking about the 2019 edition”, concludes Matteuzzi” .
Great success also for the side events, in a strict sense the events that were the setting for the sports event.
The Ultra Wine that was held in the Chianti Classico House in Radda in Chianti was also highly appreciated and that gave the opportunity to participate in guided tours of the “Sensorial Museum of Chianti Classico Wine” or in a full immersion to discover the Chianti Classico wines with the special event “How to become a Sommelier in 30 minutes”.
The echo of the event keeps a long trail of support both on the “social” where they continue to arrive videos, photos and compliments from those who participated in the race and on TV: to the first edition of Chianti Ultra Trail will be dedicated a wide television service on “Icarus” on Sky Sport that will be on air from April 9th.
